Recital Day Details

Recital "A" 3:00 - 4:00pm

Wednesday Preschool Ballet & Tuesday Studio Ballet Classes

Please drop your child off at the Main Table in the Auditorium at 2:30pm.  Auditorium Doors will open at 2:45pm and the Recital will begin at 3:00pm

Recital "B" 5:00 - 6:00pm

Friday Preschool Ballet & Wednesday Studio Ballet Classes

Please drop your child off at the Main Table in the Auditorium at 4:30pm.  Auditorium Doors will open at 4:45pm and the Recital will begin at 5:00pm

Tickets

Tickets will be required for Recital Admission.  Each student will be given 2 complementary tickets.  Additional tickets will be $5 each (children 3 and under do not need a ticket).  To purchase tickets please Call Ms Amie at (562)547-2490 or email at amielynn.hanrahan@gmail.com

Recital DVD

The Recital will be professionally recorded and available for purchase.  DVDs will be $15.  Please pre-order by emailing Ms Megan at mmarsh@paznaz.org

Ballerina Portraits

Students will be given the option of having a professional portrait taken in their costume!  On Saturday, June 7th William Ford Photography will be opening up his studio, located in Monrovia, for the girls to have a Ballet Portrait!  Portrait Sessions will be $30 and Digital Images will be made available for download on his private Online Image Gallery.  Session times will be available at:

Recital Rehearsal

Thursday, June 5th

3:30 - 4:15pm Tuesday Studio Classes

This is NOT a Dress Rehearsal!  Please have your ballerina wear normal class clothes.  We will spend some time getting comfortable with the space and walking though the process of Recital Day.  Parents are welcome to stay.

New Classes beginning in September

Miss Amie's Ballet begins a new session on Wednesdays

The kids are back to school and it is time to figure out your little one's after school activities!  Miss Amie's Ballet Classes will be starting a new 8 week session beginning on WEDNESDAY, September 19th.  Two classes will be offered this session:

Tiny Dancers-3-4 year olds

4:00-4:45pm

Focusing on basic ballet terms and body placement and creative movement.

Blooming Ballerinas- 4-6 year olds

4:45-5:30pm

Emphasizing the development of technique and coordination while introducing basic ballet combinations.

Is my daughter ready for ballet?

Many young girls love to spin and twirl around their bedroom...so does that mean they are ready for a dance class?  Many times ballet can be pushed aside in favor of tap dancing, hip-hop, jazz, Latin dance and other forms. But, did you know that beginning with ballet will help with these other types of dancing, acting, modeling and some sports as well? 

Parents often seem in a rush to enroll their children in classical ballet classes. However, formal ballet training should not be introduced until the age of 8.  Before then, a child's bones are too soft for the physical demands and exercises of classical/technical ballet.  It is actually possible to delay training until the age of 10 or 12 and still have a great future in ballet.

Pre-ballet classes, such as Ms. Amie's classes, are often offered to children between the ages of 3 and 7.  Children may be encouraged to move around the room to the rhythms of different styles of music, they are introduced to the five positions of ballet, stressing the importance of proper posture, and are encouraged to develop creative movement through storytelling.  A pre-ballet class such as this is an ideal introduction to the world of ballet that captivates the imagination and attention spans of young children.

Twinkle Toes Ballet with Ms Amie and Dream Come True Entertainment are teaming up this August for Princess Camp!  

It will be five days of dancing, singing, acting, crafts and a little princess etiquette for little princesses 3-7 years old!

Princesses Ages 3-4 * 10 - 12pm  $120                  Princesses Ages 4.5-7 * 1-4pm $180

Leap into Spring Ballet Classes with Miss Amie

Ms. Amie's Spring Ballet Session will begin the week of April 17th. The session will be 8 weeks and tuition is $96. Student Recital... For the first time, students will have an intimate recital at the end of the session to showcase what they have learned on Saturday, June 16!

Classes will begin Tuesday April 17th and Thursday April 19th. Tuesdays: Tiny Dancers (ages 2.5 - 4) 4:00 - 4:45pm Blooming Ballerinas (ages 4 - 5) 4:45 - 5:30pm Thursdays: Blooming Ballerinas* (ages 4.5 - 6) 4:00 - 4:45pm Tiny Dancers (ages 2.5 - 4) 4:45 - 5:30pm To enroll, children must be 3 years old by August 2012 *Prior ballet/dance class recommended for Thursday 4pm class

Get Ready for Summer Princess Camp! Twinkle Toes Ballet & Dream Come True Entertainment are excited to present Princess Camp in August! Little princesses ages 3 - 6 will learn singing, dance, drama along with crafts and a little etiquette during a week long camp. August 20 - August 24 Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

Ms. Amie's Ballet Classes introduce young children to the joy of dancing through a playful yet structured class. Each class is a combination of dance discipline and creative movement in an encouraging environment. Students will learn basic ballet steps as well as proper French terminology, develop core motor skills and gain coordination.

2012 Winter Ballet Classes

For the first time, there will be classes offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The 10 week session will run from the week of January 9th thru the week of March 19th, and the cost is $120.
